Me
WordPress Career
Thank you for visiting my Virtual Office. My name is Theron G. Burrough and I’m a Freelance Web Designer and Developer, Writer, and Graphic Designer. I create WordPress Websites using the Genesis Framework. I can work in other capacities detailed here.
My original hometown is New York. In August 2020, I moved to rural Northern Michigan, where I am extremely happy. My office is equipped with Cable Internet Access, and Cellular Internet Access as backup.
Online Marketing and Retail
My other professional interests are online marketing and retailing the products I admire. I’m particularly fond of health products and outdoor gear. I am considering a flyering campaign for my upcoming gear store launch, a great way to meet my neighbors.
Favorite Interests
My favorite topics are technology, health, business, news and history. I love to promote health, tech and outdoor gear companies, and to write about health and technology.
Past Careers
Working in New York City was generally interesting, frequently fascinating, and too often harrowing. In office jobs, I was generally the tech person when PCs first arrived. When computers became common, I generally worked in tech jobs. Among my New York careers, I was an elevator mechanic, elevator consultant and licensed elevator inspector. I’m a trained Electronics Technician.
My Bland Website
Having grown up on science fiction, you’d think I would put all sorts of cool, high-tech things on my Website. I would, if I had a personal Website. My business Website is designed to save the reader time, and make it easy to find my Contact Page. For your Website, we can have stained glass windows and tap dancing, no problem.
The Art
My logo design is based on the office door lettering seen in office buildings up through the 1950s. Each occupant’s name and profession was hand painted, or acid etched, onto the frosted glass window pane of their door. I chose the font Copperplate for my logo, framed by two lines as it might be on a door. Copperplate was long used in signage and stationery for American professional offices starting about 1900. Copper is also one of my personal colors, as I happen to like things made of copper, and parts of my person are copper colored.
Writing is for me a contest to use few words. I’ve used the font Roboto for headings, and Lato for text on TheronBurrough.com. I hope that in combination with abundant white space, and my diligent brevity, you find the effect restful.
My cover photograph is compliments of Snapwire at Pexels.com. (Restfulness again. I love excitement. I just don’t see a need for it on my business Web page.)
The Technology
TheronBurrough.com uses the Digital Pro theme by StudioPress, designed for use in a digital product store. It’s a bit dated but I find it simple and subdued.
